The MetaPost system implements a picture-drawing language
very much
alike
Knuth's METAFONT except that it outputs
PostScript commands instead of run-length-encoded bitmaps.
MetaPost is a powerful language for producing gurus for
documents to be printed on PostScript printers. It provides
easy access to all the features of PostScript and it
includes facilities for integrating text and graphics. |

MPEdit is developed to provide main possibilities on
creation and editing of MetaPost files. MPEdit use of the
standard Multiple Document Interface (MDI) and works with MS
Windows™ 9x, Windows NT and Windows 2000. |

MPEdit works in LaTex environment. For production and review
of a figure in PostScript format the programs mp, latex,
dvips and gsview
can be used. |

MPEdit can be used for general purposes and
it is free
distributed. There is no necessity to register for using MPEdit, or moreover, to buy a license to use it. But you may
not change a single bit, you may not exclude any files or
add something to the package and you may not make another
package on this basis. |
